At HOW Studio, we've spent years working with teams of all sizes: startups, agencies, and large organizations. We've built web applications and have guided digital strategy. And while the tools we use to build have evolved rapidly, the way we communicate with clients hasn't kept up. Especially when it comes to feedback.

In our day-to-day work, we noticed a recurring pain point: communicating clearly with non-technical clients, especially about bugs, feature requests, priorities, and progress, was often messy, scattered, or too reliant on emails, screenshots, and long threads. For technical clients, we could get away with GitHub issues or Notion boards. But for everyone else it was friction, time consuming and nerve-wracking.

That's when the idea behind Definable was born.

We wanted a tool that bridges the gap between agencies and clients, without setup headaches. And we know it is "yet another system" to manage. But something lightweight, respectful of everyone's time, and powerful enough to keep even complex projects on track, was worth it for us.

One of the biggest challenges we've faced as an agency is managing scope creep. When communication is unclear or fragmented, it becomes easy for small changes to snowball into major shifts, without proper discussion or alignment. Definable helps bring clarity to what was agreed, what's being discussed, and what's changing, making it easier to say "yes" when appropriate and "not yet" when necessary. Or even revisit the budget when a feature clearly goes beyond the original scope.

We built Definable because we needed it ourselves. And now we're making it available to other agencies, studios, and freelancers who've felt the same pain.
